just another day

Yep its that day. The day I don't care about. Josh will bring home some chocolates for us anyway- which I'm perfectly okay with. And I usually create a unique card. One year I pasted a picture of a real human heart onto a piece of paper and gave it to Josh. This year I felted. Its a craft that is perfectly suited for adeline and me.
Adeline has been learning on the computer a lot lately. And she's back into reading her encyclopedia's lately. Still I sometimes think I should be doing more with her acedemically. Maybe I will just to keep us from getting so bored during the day. I swear when its cold my creativity and adventurousness gets frozen. I forget about all the things we could be doing to be happy, have fun, and learn about life. I have to get out of the hibernation mindset and live it up.
I've pretty much finished designing my dream house on the architecture software. That kept me preoccupied for awhile and I guess a lot of my creativity went into that. But I'd like to spend more time being with Adeline instead of her doing her thing and me doing mine.
She's definitely an only child-something I'm still working on changing. I'd also like to find her more friends that we see on a regular basis. Kids with moms (and/or dads) I like to be around as well. I need more friends too. Some of the homeschoolers around here are just wierd-you know all the stereotypical generalizations about homeschoolers. And without adeline being in any classes outside of home right now we haven't met anyone new. I'm sure they'll happen our way eventually.
I miss writing letters. Real letters to real friends who live far away. I should go on an extended holiday just so I can write home. Someplace warm but not just a relaxing beach holiday where I sit around and have nothing to write about. A vacation with a purpose. There's always volunteering over seas. Or a festival of some sort. Of course I wouldn't mind hanging out on a beach right now with the sound of the ocean and all the fruit Ican eat. Yeah, that sound nice.

The Secret has gone Mainstream

Both The Secret and The Law of Attraction are in the top six being sold on Amazon today! "Boy that Oprah is good for something all right"-those are Josh's words. Can you feel the Universe shifting to a more positive version of itself?

wierd things

First the wierd things I have in common with Mel or Eric:
*I too have sympathy for inanimate objects. I used to kiss my stuffed animals with a magical kiss that would prevent them from feeling pain-especially when we played circus and I threw them twisting into the air and let them land with a thump on my feet.
*I heart nerds-big time. I am one and I'm attracted to them. Usually nerds are the sidekick and I have a thing for sidekicks as well.
*Although I'm not "into" the weather, I do have a fascination for it. I can watch the weather channel and be entertained. I like the seasons and the different smells they bring. I will sit outside and watch a storm nearing or run shirtless in the summer rain. On my google sidebar I have the weather posted of 5 places I have lived and/or know people who live there.
*I am also nostalgic for time periods of the way past. Places too. Greece when the gods ruled. Pride and Prejudice type England. British occupied India. Chicago in the 20's and the East Coast and Italy in the 40's. Farm living in the 50's.

My own wierd things.
*The voice in my head is British. Maybe because I read lots of british literature when I was kid.
*When I was a kid everything on the left was male and everything on the right was female. I would talk to my hands-being an only child-and my left hand was boy and the right girl. But my whole body felt that way. Still does but its not confined to left or right anymore.
*I also used to talk to my ovaries because I knew eggs where in there and I figured if I ever had kids I'd start to get to know them real early.
*I am a sci-fi dork. Buffy, Angel, Star Trek (Next Gen, DS9, and Voyager), X-files, Firefly, Battlestar Galactica, Stargate, even the bad ones I'll watch and half way enjoy. I also like the comic book characters (and maybe buffy and angel are closer to that genere) but I don't read actual comic books. I just follow their stories-the saturday morning cartoon versions are awesome.
*I have an aversion to the phone. I only like to talk to people I know really well. I get nauseous if I have to make business calls (even to order pizza). I don't even like to call people I sort of know-I'll email.
*I believe in the spirit world. Which isn't so wierd to most the people I know so wonder if I should even count that. But I'm going to.
